Cars 2 Review for iPod Touch

As a game junkie, are you racking your brains to look for a fashionable game to play?  Do you want to keep up with the high tech’s pace to have a try the newly developed game? Now there is a piece of good news for gamers that Disney Mobile’s new Cars 2 app, which launched on the App Store on June 22 for $0.99, is currently number one on the Top Paid iPod Games  in Apps list.

Lightning McQueen, Mater, Holly Shiftwell, and Finn McMissile are ready to race! In Cars 2, a casual platform game by Disney, you’ll help these adorable cars speed and jump across cities with the main goal of making it to the finish line. Along the way, you’ll have to avoid various hazards, from obstacles on the road to deep water.

Cars 2 is a short game of just 24 levels divided into three regions: Oil Rig, Tokyo, and London. "Cars 2": The Video Game" (AT). Playable on the Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, this is a racing game filled with cartoony combat. Similar in play style to the popular "Mario Kart" series, kids race around tracks found throughout the world while collecting weapons and gadgets to use against their opponents.

Because the cars wield all sorts of spy gadgets and weapons, the game is rated E10+ by the ESRB and isn't really appropriate for the movie's youngest demographic. Luckily, there is a game on the Leapster Explorer that is more appropriate for younger kids, and an iPad book app that little kids can enjoy. Plus, the mobile app "Cars 2," which plays on the iPhone, iPod and iPad, is an arcade racer that isn't as violent as the console game.

Timed with the theatrical release of Disney•Pixar’s Cars 2 movie on June 24, 2011, the Cars 2 app lets players control their favorite characters from the movie, including Lightning McQueen, Mater, Finn McMissile and Holley Shiftwell. Players race through spy-worthy environments inspired by the film, such as the mysterious Oil Rig, streets of Tokyo and bridges of London and can increase their score by collecting oilcans and spare parts through 24 fun levels. But they must watch out — the course is littered with challenging obstacles to conquer!
