When it comes to the two flagship Verizon smartphones of 2011, the
HTC Thunderbolt and the Verizon iPhone, pitting them against each other
will no doubt attract strong criticism from both Android and Apple fans.
Thetwo smartphones are in a cutthroat battle against each other at the
moment, as the largest carrier in the US happens to be home to both of
them. We have previously compared these two phones along with the
Motorola Droid Bionic, as far as specs go but we wondered in the battle
of the HTC Thunderbolt vs. the Verizon iPhone 4, which is selling
better? And which is more easy and convenient for us to put our dvd
movies to iphone 4 by using a dvd to iphone 4 converter? All of these we can have a comparison of them.
Verizon finally got the iPhone 4 in February while the Thunderbolt was
released in a blaze of publicity in March because it was the first 4G
handset for the Verizon 4G LTE network. The HTC Thunderbolt is the first
4G LTE from Verizon and it’s amazing. I live in San Francisco, which is
well-covered by Verizon’s 3G and 4G network. The phone is almost always
on the 4G network when I’m in San Francisco or Silicon Valley.
The Thunderbolt has impressed many with its excellent speed performance,
though hasn’t been without reported problems, but has certainly got off
to a good start sales-wise although of course we should remember this
research only covered sales from Verizon Wireless stores. Wireless and
Mobile News also reports on this sales research and adds that the
Thunderbolt is expected to get the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update
sometime in this second quarter.
GBM: Why HTC Thunderbolt beats iPhone 4 (GBM)
"Verizon 4G LTE"
There is no arguing with it. If you live in an area with good 4G LTE
coverage than not only does the HTC Thunderbolt beat the iPhone 4 when
it comes to blazingly quick data speeds but also every other smartphone
on the market at the moment.
"Keyboard Options"
Sometimes the standard keyboard isn't good enough. With Android, you can
choose from a multitude of 3rd party keyboards like FlexT9 and Swype.
Now if you haven't used Swype before you won't see the advantage. While
both smartphones don't have physical keypads to match the speed typing
skills of say BlackBerry users, the Swype keyboard gets you very close
(and can even beat it if you're a Swype pro).
"It Has Four Buttons!"
The iPhone has one big home button which lets you do a couple of
different actions by holding or tapping twice but it can't beat the four
dedicated buttons for the HTC Thunderbolt. While I don't frequently
find myself hitting the search button on the right corner, the back
button is a truly handy tool and you won't believe how much you use it
until its actually there. In essence, this truly makes multitasking
whole.
"Home Screen"
Widgets. What more can anyone say without being repeating on what the
blogosphere has said time and time again when it comes to the Android vs
iPhone battle.
